Privacy and consent

Privacy Policy

How The Magic Sponge handles optional analytics, advertising consent and information used to operate private Waiver Arena games.

1. Information we collect

We collect minimal information to provide our services:

  • Analytics data: page views, session duration and navigation patterns via optional Google Analytics.
  • Contact information: name and email when you contact the support mailbox.
  • Waiver Arena account information: email address, display name, password hash and the team or teams you choose for private Waiver Arena games. Your email is not shown to other players.
  • Consent choices: your optional analytics preference and any advertising consent preference.

2. How we use your information

Your information is used to improve the website and user experience, respond to support requests, understand traffic where analytics is accepted, and authenticate players in private four-to-ten-team Waiver Arena games.

Within the same Waiver game, display names and team names may be shown to other players. The sealed game audit record is maintained so the game can be operated and reviewed. Advertising delivery is supported only where permitted by the relevant consent choices.

3. Third-party services

The site may use Google Analytics for optional website analytics and Google AdSense for advertisements. These services may collect information as described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Google operates those services. The Magic Sponge does not treat the local analytics choice as an advertising-consent substitute.

4. Cookies and choices

Optional Google Analytics is disabled until you choose to accept analytics. Essential technical storage may still be used to remember your choice and operate the website.

When Google AdSense ads are shown, advertising consent choices for visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland are handled through the Google-certified consent message configured in the AdSense account. You can also manage cookies in your browser settings.

5. Data security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Waiver Arena passwords are stored as password hashes rather than readable passwords. Private game invitation tokens are one-time credentials and are not displayed again after issue or claim. Other players can see only your display name and team name within their own game.

6. Your rights

You can request access to or deletion of personal data, opt out of marketing communications, change optional analytics consent through Cookie Settings and control cookies in your browser.
